Thomas was born on February 12th, 1905. Thomas' father was Edward Henry Rowland and his mother was Alice Sarah Henderson. His paternal grandparents were Edward Henry Rowland and Francis Fanny Eyres; his maternal grandparents were Tom Henderson and Sarah. He had two brothers named Ted and Alfred. He was the youngest of the three children. He died at the age of 69 in 1974.
