Tamar was born on September 19th, 1831.  Tamar's father was Edward Rowland and her mother was Catherine Farmer.  Her paternal grandparents were Edward Rowland and Jane; her maternal grandparents were James Farmer and Tamar Alcock. She had two brothers named Thomas and John.  She was the youngest of the three children.
