Muriel Cynthia Rowland

Muriel was born on January 31st, 1921 in Chelsea.¹ Muriel's father was John Hill Rowland and her mother was Eva Mary Eyles. Her paternal grandparents were Albert Francis Rowland and Frances Hill. She was an only child. She died at the age of 88 in 2009 in Austrialia.¹

  Joined the W.A.A.F 13/7/1941 – Dental clerk orderly No 2000772. Leading Aircraftwomen. R.A.F Gloucester & Uxbridge, training for 2 months.
  Service included R.A.F Church Fenton Yorkshire – fighter station 6 months. R.A.F Poetreath – Bomber Drome (for Africa postings) 18 months. Three years with 28 Mobile Dental Unit stationed at 67 Maintenance Unit Taunton Area covered, South Wales, Devon, Somerset, Wiltshire also including Isle of Wight and Dorset. Mostly radar stations that were isolated and our itinerary was every 6 month. Very mobile longest stay approx 6 weeks to 2 months treating all for dental work. (As written my Muriel)
  Demobilized 13/12/1945 Wythall cancelled and then demobilized from no. 43 group Unit 13 M.U. 7/2/1946 Henlow. Paid a daily rate of 3 shillings 6 pence increased to 4/8 pence on demobilize.
