Douglas was born on March 13th, 1924 in Woodnewton.¹ Douglas' father was Donald Rowland and his mother was Mary Anderson Steven. His paternal grandparents were Albert Francis Rowland and Frances Hill; his maternal grandparents were James Mowat Steven and Jeanie Anderson. He had a brother. He died due to natural causes or old age at the age of 77 on July 19th, 2001.
