George was born on December 8th, 1805.  George's father was James Farmer and his mother was Tamar Alcock.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Farmer and Elizabeth Worth. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, William, Richard, James, John, Elizabeth, Catherine, Sarah, Mary and Eleanor.  He was the youngest of the eleven children.
