John was born in 1877 in Bowdon, Cheshire, Eng.1   John's father was William Brocklehurst and his mother was Jane Latham. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Joseph, George, William, Annie, Sarah and Margaret.  He was the second youngest of the seven children.
